Remove the "Made with AI" label from your Instagram photos

Instagram, Facebook, and Threads read hidden C2PA content credentials and AI metadata in your image files. MetaStrip removes them in your browser — before you upload — so your post appears without the AI info tag.

Why does Instagram show "Made with AI"?

Meta scans embedded C2PA content credentials and standard EXIF/XMP fields written by tools like Photoshop Generative Fill, Adobe Firefly, Google Gemini, and other AI image generators. Even a lightly edited photo can inherit these tags and trigger the AI info label.

MetaStrip re-encodes the pixels of your image and discards every hidden field — content credentials, generative AI markers, GPS location, camera serial, editing history — so the file uploads clean.

Frequently asked questions

+Will Instagram still add 'Made with AI' after I use MetaStrip?

In most cases, no. Instagram detects the label from C2PA content credentials and AI-specific EXIF/XMP fields embedded in the file. MetaStrip re-encodes the image and removes all of those. Meta may also look at other signals for well-known generative outputs — this tool addresses the metadata path.

+Does removing metadata reduce image quality?

No visible change. We re-save JPEGs at 95% quality and PNGs losslessly. Metadata lives outside the pixel data, so removing it doesn't touch what you see.

+Is this legal?

Yes. Metadata is data about your file. You can freely edit or remove it from images you own. Do check the terms of the platform you're posting to.

+What formats are supported?

JPG and PNG up to 15MB per image, 2 images per batch, 6 per day per visitor.

+Do you keep my images?

No. Processing happens entirely in your browser via the Canvas API. No image ever reaches a server.
