Meta began reading C2PA content credentials in 2024, and photographers quickly found that ordinary edits — an AI denoise in Lightroom, a Generative Fill patch, a Magic Editor cleanup — were enough to get a photo tagged as AI. Existing options were either technical command-line tools or upload-to-a-server websites. We wanted something that took five seconds and never sent the photo anywhere.
How we test
Before each change to the metadata pipeline we export test files from Photoshop Generative Fill, Adobe Firefly, Lightroom, Google Photos Magic Editor, Gemini, Midjourney and DALL·E, run them through the tool, inspect the output for remaining C2PA, EXIF, XMP and IPTC fields, and post real uploads to Instagram, Facebook and Threads to confirm the information tag behaviour.
Our privacy stance
Processing happens entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. There are no accounts for visitors, no image uploads, no image storage and no hidden paid tier. The site is funded by advertising only. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
